Kencom Lions win Game One

KENYA Commercial Bank (KCB) Lions mauled Co-operative Bank of Kenya 60-49 in a one-sided Game One playoff finals match at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium.
The win hints at a strong KCB second crown since 2001 if they could hang on in Game Two set for this weekend. Lions had their intentions clear from the start as they stamped their authority over their rivals all the way.
KCB led 12-6 in the first quarter through efforts by David Otiso, Patrick Kirui and Tobias Onyango. Co-op took the second 11-9, but trailed 23-35 at the break. After resumption, Lions again took the third 15-11 before Co-op went up 15-10 in the final quarter.
Onyango led Lions' score line with 15 points as Yoni Wanambiro nailed 14, Kirui contributed 12 while Juma Ikapian added 10. Co-op had game high 19 from Wycliffe Ochieng who failed to get enough support from team-mates.
