Lions through to Floodlit finals

The KCB Lions qualified for the Impala Floodlit finals with a 23-7 win over hosts Impala RFC in a semi final clash played last night at the Impala Club.They led 18-0 at half time.

Peter Mutai scored 8 points from two penalties and a conversion.Anthony Ochino,Mark Emitati and team captain Paul Murunga added a try each.

David Matasio scored Impala's consolation try with Moses Kola putting over the resulting conversion.

KCB head coach Michael "Tank" Otieno told The Lions Den:"I was happy with the team's performance...their ball retention was good...and they played according to the game plan...the young players were impressive too."

STRATHMORE STRETCH MWAMBA
Surprise package Strathmore University gave seasoned campaigners Mwamba RFC a torrid time before losing out 7-10 in an earlier semi-final clash at the same venue.

Hastings Nyariki touched down for Strathmore with Joshua Gathumbi scoring the conversion.

Strathmore player/coach Mitch Ocholla was happy with the performance of his young side,terming it a learning experience for the forthcoming Eric Shirley Shield.

Mwamba replied with tries from Mike Mutuku and Oduor Weru.
