The KCB Lions were yesterday held to a 13-13 draw on Kenya Cup match day 9 as the first leg drew to a close. The match, played at The Lions' Den in Ruaraka, saw the Lions survive a torrid first half , taking a 3-0 lead into the interval off Kenyan international Peter Mutai's penalty.Second half action saw Quins apply early pressure but the Lions got back in the game and extended their lead to 6-0 courtesy of Peter Mutai's drop goal.Quins, who were the home team, came back strongly and were rewarded for their efforts when Leslie Libasia touched down. Jude Thumbi converted to give Quins a 7-6 lead. He would add two penalties that saw Quins grab a 13-6 lead before Neil Dick's try at the dearth saw the scores read 13-11. Mutai's last gasp conversion sealed the draw for the Lions who showed great character even as they seemed dead and buried. The league takes a break for the Safari Sevens that takes place from June 20 to June 22.
