Kenya recovered from a try down to emphatically beat Hong Kong 43-7  at the Emirates Sevens ground on Friday to stay in contention for a quarter final berth at the IRB Rugby Sevens World Cup. Kenya had the better of the opening half. Gibson Weru with two run-ins. For Hong Kong they got on the scoreboard early through Rowan Varty, but Kenya  started to impose themselves. A brilliant display of running Sevens rugby from the Kenyans, led to dancing in the stands and on the pitch. Hong Kong worked hard in defence, but Kenya showed they are a force to be reckoned with. Lavin Asego, Collins Injera and Horace Otieno all with tries for Kenya. additional information from Charles Nyende ( Nation Media Group)  in Dubai Earlier on Thursday, Tunisia grabbed the lead moments into the kick of through Abess Kherfani in this opening Group "E" try before Kenya hit back with a powerful running display to score five unanswered tries as the Virgin Atlantic sponsored Kenyans prevailed 29-7. It settled the jitters of Kenya who were looking for a good start on Thursday ahead of Friday's final group matches against Hong Kong and England.  "Our minimum target is to make the Cup quarterfinals. We now have to beat Hong Kong today (Friday) and then look to the group decider match against England," Kenya captain Humphrey Kayange said after the match. "Yes, we cannot cheat ourselves about this one. The big one will be against England. We will sleep on it and see how things go today (Friday)," coach Benjamin Ayimba said. Ruthless finishing The top teams in each of the six pools together with the best two runners up will qualify for the Cup quarters set for Saturday.  England are favoured to top their pool led by Leicester flyer Tom Varndell who set the IRB world sevens series ablaze two years ago. It will be interesting to see him come up with the current joint IRB sevens top scorer Collins Injera, who showed he was in his ruthless finishing form with three on day one.  "Collins is just in that great form he has been in of finishing," Ayimba said of his lead try scorer.  After a nervous start that saw Tunisia take the game to the Kenyans and lead with a converted try, Kayange broke free on the left wing to go in and out of a lone defender and canter 40 meters too bring the scores to 7-5. Victor Oduor then fed Injera on the tackle. And in his current form the chasing Tunisians could only stare at his clean pair of heels. Kenya paly England in a few minutes after going to press,the winner of this match qualifies for the quarter finals and the 2013 Rugby Sevens World Cup while the loser depends on mathematics and good luck to make it thorugh to the quarter finals.
