KCB v/s Impala match preview

Leaders Impala complete their 2008 Kenya Cup campaign in search of back-to-back wins against defending champions KCB when the sides meet in a mouth-watering Kenya Cup showdown at the Lions' Den in Ruaraka on Saturday 23 August 2008.

The Gazelles have not won at Ruaraka since a 19-12 win in 2003 but will go into Saturday's match in high spirits following their 32-20 victory over the same opposition at the Impala Club on June 7.

.

Charles Ngovi's men have 61 points from their fifteen outings, while KCB are in second position with 55 points, but from fourteen games.

While the Lions' of KCB will be banking on their home support during the weekend fixture, they will also go into Saturday's contest with confidence following their recent 36-16 thrashing of former Kenya Cup champions Nondies.

But the league champions will be facing a determined Impala side who controversially overcame Mwamba 33-22 on Kenya Cup Match Day 16 to stake a claim on the title they last won in 2004.

Saturday's clash promises to be a thriller, with the number four playing a role, The Lions are in pursuit of a fourth successive league title while the Gazelles are out to win the title for the first time since 2004. Interesting stuff indeed
