KRFU AGM ON FEB 27

 The Kenya Rugby Football Union shall hold its Annual General Meeting on
February 27 from 4 pm at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa ground.

A Notice by Frank Sabwa, the KRFU Secretary sent the Notice. At the AGM, the
affiliates are expected to elect a new vice chairman, secretary and
treasurer. Three current officials, Fred Odhiambo (vice chairman), Frank
Sabwa (secretary), David Lukalo(treasurer) are eligible and offered
themselves for re-election.

 Also, three directors - Mwangi Muthee, AJ Odera, and Alexander Mutai -
retire by rotation but are eligible and offered themselves for re-election.
Muthee has been incharge of national squads management, Odera had the
marketing and technical docket and Mutai the seven-a-side team.

 The meeting comes at a time when the KRFU is faced with a tough balancing
act to ensure that the momentum which has been built by the national
seven-a-side team among others is maintained. "These are difficult times for
the Union. We need more sponsorship and are grateful that Virgin Atlantic
Airways came on board to support the 7's team," Richard Omwela, the KRFU
chairman noted.

 KRFU has been short listed as one of the best-run associations for the 2007
Sportsman of the Year Awards.
