Mutai tops points scorers chart

The Lions' Peter Mutai has dislodged Moses Kola of Impala at the top of the Kenya Cup point's scoring chart.

Mutai who also alternates with Kola as national team scrum-halves has 80 points while Kola has 79. The two players have not crossed the line so often with Mutai scoring only two tries and Kola one but have been accurate with their kicks. Mutai has slotted 20 conversions and 10 penalties while Kola has kicked over four penalties and 22 penalties.

Mwamba's utility back Collins Injera has scored 53 points. Completing the top 10 are Jude Thumbi (Quins) 51, Richard Kinyany (KCB) 35, Kevin Gachoka (Mean Machine) 34, Pascal Wetukha (Nakuru) 32, Kevin 'bling' Wambua (Mwamba) 31, Humphrey Kayange (Mwamba) 30, Hilary Itela (Nondies) and Edward Achayo (Mombasa Sports Club) 25 each.

Injera is the leading try scorer after crossing the line nine times. Richard Kinyany (KCB) has scored seven tries, Khayange six with Itela and Achayo on five each.

There is lively sibling rivalry. Injera who has scored nine tries leads his elder brother Khayange who has scored six. Innocent Simiyu is calling the shots with 24 points followed by Nato on 23 while Victor Sudi has scored 10 points.

With 19 points, Mwamba fly-half Lavin Asego is way ahead of his younger brother Chris who has five points. Patrick and Allan Onyango are tied at 15 points each. Wilson K'Opondo has 10 points and his younger brother Eric five.
