Lions face Nondies in must-win encounter

After a dramatic final quarter collapse against bogey side Mwamba RFC,defending Kenya Cup champions KCB Lions face Nondescript RFC in a must-win clash at the Jamhuri Park from 4.30pm this afternoon.

The Lions are currently lying third behind leaders Kenya Harlequin and Impala RFC although they have a game in hand.Coach Michael " Tank" Otieno will have a full compliment of players and surely count on a disciplined performance from his team.Last weekend,Peter Mutai and Anthony Ogot were sin binned with the Lions holding a 35-12 lead with 15 minutes on the ticker,Mwamba RFC took advantage of their numerical superiority to pump in 24 unanswered points and dramatically snatch a 36-35 victory.

The Lions are definitely wounded and are expected to come out fighting as their quest for a third successive league crown approaches fever pitch. They know that a win is essential as anything less than this sees the Kenya Cup leave Thika Road for the first time in two years.Arnold "Arnoldinho" Odera,Calvins Biko and Paul Murunga will be some of the key players expected to lead the Lions to victory today at Jamhuri Park.

Best of luck to the Lions from the team at THE LIONS' DEN.More updates will be posted as soon as they are received.
