KCB overcome Mwamba

The KCB Lions bounced back to winning ways with a hard fought 15-3 over Mwamba RFC in a Kenya Cup league match played at the Nairobi Railway Club this afternoon.The Lions led 10-3 at half time.

KCB opened their scoring through Anthony Ochino who touched down in the 10th minute.Peter Mutai converted for a 7-0 lead.Mwamba came back strongly and scored their only points of the match from a Collins Injera penalty in the 26th minute.Humphery Kayange and Richard Nyakwakwa were then sent to the sin bin for unsportsmanlike behaviour.Peter Mutai scored from the resulting penalty to give the Lions a 10-3 half time lead.

The Lions started the second half strongly and scored their second try through Richard Kinyanyi.Mutai missed this conversion.

As the game progessed,Mwamba applied pressure that was contained by the KCB defence.The Lions had Anthony Ogot sin binned in the 65th minute.KCB held on to win this clash.

KCB CUBS BEAT MWAMBA II
In the second division Eric Shirley Shield league,KCB Cubs beat Mwamba II 12-9 at the Nairobi Railway Club.The Cubs led 7-0 at half time.

Felix Asena touched down for the Cubs after 33 minutes.Marvin Muyera converted.The game then turned into a scrappy affair characterised by many questionable calls from the match referee.

Mwamba II were rewarded for consistent pressure when they scored two penalties to narrow the score to 7-6.KCB Cubs rallied late in the game and scored the decisive try that brought the score to 12-6.Evans Watimah touched down but Muyera missed the conversion.Mwamba II scored another penalty but it was not enough to win them the game.
